WHAT IS IPL?
IPL means Intense Pulsed Light and uses the most effective light spectrum (not to be confused with laser)
to remove the hair permanently.
It is harmless, painless, gentle and no ablative (not damaging the surface on the skin) treatment. The intense
light is delivered to the deeper parts of the skin and leaves the superficial aspect of the skin untouched.
It’s used for permanent hair removal and to treat skin problems like wrinkles, freckles, spots, superficial veins etc.
PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL
The IPL flash lamp technology uses light energy to reach the melanin that is contained in the hair follicle and heat them.
A thin layer of gel is applied to the skin which shall be treated to ensure optimal light transmission to the hair follicle.
The light penetrates through the melanin in the hair into the skin without damaging it and is absorbed by pigments in the depths of the hair root and hair follicle. The hair root and hair follicles are inflamed and are permanently destroyed.
The IPL flash lamp technology allows the permanent hair removal on all facial and body areas (except the eyebrows) like upper lip, chin, cheeks, shoulders, chest, stomach, bikini line, legs, arms and back. The treatment is suitable for all different skin and hair types both for women and men.
The human hair grows in different cycles. The hair removal with IPL is working only in hairs which are growing.
Approximately 20-30% of all hairs are in growth phase, therefore repeated treatments at specified intervals is necessary.
In the face every 3-4 weeks and the body every 6-8 weeks.
Depending on the region of the body, hair texture, age and hormonal status you need to count on approximately 8-12 treatments.
GENERAL INFORMATION
You should leave the hair to grow approximately 4 weeks before the treatment, don't wax or pluck the hair during these weeks.
Depilatory cream and shaving are allowed. Sunbathing is not allowed 2 weeks before and after treatment. Some people can get a
slight redness and/or swelling of the skin. Both however disappear after a few hours.
IMPORTANT
People with risk of thrombosis, severe circulatory disorders or venous diseases are not treated.
The same if you are taking medication that increases the light sensitivity of the skin like antibiotics or steroids.
